Renter Responsibilities
As the Renter, you are responsible for:
Failure to do any of these can cause you to forfeit your entire damage deposit and could possibly create additional charges.
In addition, if you cancel within 7 days of your event, your damage deposit will not be returned. If you have already paid for your event, you will receive a check for your rental minus the damage deposit.
Rental of the Forman Center is under the supervision of the Forman Park District Board, a non-profit municipal committee. We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion.
Most of those who care for the Forman Center do so as volunteers.
Please treat them accordingly.
The rental fee is due on the date indicated on your invoice.
Your date will not be considered reserved until the fee is paid, and will be open to rent to others.
There is a damage deposit required for most events. The damage deposit will be returned upon inspection if no damage is detected.
Rental rates are based on the actual hours you expect to be in the facility, which includes set up as well as clean-up time. If you pay the "maximum rental fee" for the gym you may have until 10:00 am the following day to clean up. There may be rare circumstances where this concession is not possible due to other events.
It is in everyone's best interest if you meet with someone to show you around before your event.
It is the renter's responsibility to see that the Center is cleaned up inside and out after use. If we have to hire help to clean, the renter will be billed at the rate of $15.00 per hour.
Entrance to the Forman Center
There is one door that has a keypad that requires a four digit code. A code will be given to you when you rent the Center so that you can admit yourself as needed. Enter the code and then turn the lock. The code will be removed after your event.
What supplies are furnished?
Unfortunately, equipment is hard to keep in a public building where there is no full-time supervisor. There are two closets for brooms, mops, toilet paper, garbage bags, and paper towels. The closets are located by the restrooms in the gym. Any kitchen supplies - towels, wash cloths, soap, pans, table service, coolers, etc, must be provided by the renter.
The kitchen has two stoves and a refrigerator that are available for your use if you rent the kitchen/cafeteria.
There is also a refrigerator in the gym.
***The stage, upstairs area and other rooms are off limits.***
How many chairs and tables?
We have enough seating room for 350, including 44 round tables (33 hard plastic and 11 wood) that are 5' in diameter and seat 8 each, 15 rectangular tables that are 8' long and 8 rectangular tables that are 6' long, and about 320 folding metal chairs.
What are some common damages?
The renter is responsible for the expenses of any and all damages to the building and claims against the Forman Center and Forman Park District as a result of your event. That includes noise complaints and injuries. The village has rules on music volume. Please be considerate of our neighbors.
Alcoholic Beverages
As of September 1, 2018, all matters regarding the sales and service of alcoholic beverages at the Forman Center are to be handled by the Forman Park District. We will be happy to provide a cash bar for your event, and will handle all licensing, product ordering, and bar service. If you have any special requests, please notify us. In order to offer alcohol at your event, the Park District MUST be notified no less than 30 days prior to the date of your event.
NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED, whether it is intended to be sold or offered to your guests for free. If it is found that you or one of your attendee's bring in their own alcohol, the renter will not receive their deposit back.
