1.  What are the rates for renting the Forman Center?

*Maximum rate is the most we will charge for your event on a given day.  This is to accomodate events that require significant set-up time, or that run most of the day.

The renter is responsible to put away the tables and chairs and disposal of refuse. If you would like, we will take care of that for you after your event for an additional fee, as follows:
Cafeteria:  $25.00
Gym:  $50.00

Note:  All event types require a security, or damage deposit.  If there are no issues, the deposit will be returned after inspection of the Center.  If you cancel your event we will refund your rental payment, but not the deposit. Rates are based on the total time you expect to be in the Center.  This includes set-up and clean-up time.  If you pay the daily rate for the rental of the gym you may have until 10am the following day to clean up.  There may be rare circumstances where this will not be possible due to scheduling conflicts.

2.  What supplies are furnished?
Unfortunately equipment is hard to keep in a public building where there is no full-time supervisor. There are two closets for brooms, mops, toilet paper, garbage bags, and paper towels. The closets are located by the restrooms in the gym. Any kitchen supplies - towels, wash cloths, soap, pans, table service, coolers, etc, must be provided by the renter.

Both the cafeteria and gymnasium have built-in sound systems that can be used with any microphone, laptop, mp3 player or other sound equipment.

3.  How many chairs and tables do you have?
The Center features a gymnasium with bleachers and a concession area with refrigerator.  We have enough seating room for 350, including 44 round tables (33 hard plastic and 11 wood) that are 5' in diameter and seat 8 each, 15 rectangular tables that are 8' long and 8 rectangular tables that are 6' long, and about 320 folding metal chairs. The gymnasium has a built-in sound system that can be used with any microphone, laptop, mp3 player or other sound equipment.

We also feature a cafeteria, complete with a food preparation area, refrigerator with freezer and two stove/ovens. 
Our tables and chairs must never be taken from the center.

4.  Is smoking allowed?
The Forman Center is a smoke-free building. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building.

5.  Can alcoholic beverages be served at our event?

All events where alcohol will be served MUST provide evidence of all licensing documentation as well as liquor liability insurance before your event. Evidence shall include the village permit, state of illinois permit and certificate of liquor liability insurance. If the evidence is not provided, you will be able to hold your event, but will not be allowed to serve alcohol.

There are two possible scenarios for providing liquor at your event:

1.  Liquor is provided for free to your guests, such as a wedding reception. If you are serving alcohol and there is no charge to your guests your homeowner's policy may provide coverage. Check with your insurance company. We must have a statement from the insurance company indicating coverage provided under the policy.

2. Cash Bar.  If you plan on having a cash bar, or if your the alcohol is provided by a caterer for a charge, the provider will have to provide you with a State of Illinois Special Event Permit, a Special Event Permit from the Village of Manito, and evidence of Special Event Liquor Liability insurance coverage.
